Role of the WCC The WCC’s role in home care includes providing clinical expertise, working with other healthcare team members, and providing education. Our clinical nurses providing wound care serve individuals who access primary care with one of our physicians or nurse practitioners, and who need regular dressing changes for their wounds. WOUND CARE NURSE HOME VISITS PROFESSIONAL
We work with your loved one's medical team to offer the professional support he or she needs. From scheduled nursing visits to hourly care, someone is there to help 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The nursing team provides wound care services to primary care clients who are uninsured and encounter barriers accessing wound care elsewhere, and is available to the rest of the primary care team for consultation on best practices in wound care. Our private duty nurses are available whenever you need them. Additionally, our clinical nursing team is able to occasionally able to offer home visits for initial wound assessments for homebound clients. We are seeking an Exceptional Registered Nurse (RN) who are Wound Care or Lymphedema.
With our clinical nursing team having the skill set and resources to provide wound care on-site the need for outbound referrals and external coordination is reduced. The Visiting Nurse Association of Florida (VNA) is a 45-year-old home health agency that is vastly growing. While certain procedures should only be carried out by professionals, most caregivers equipped with basic knowledge of wound care and step-by-step guidance can. Many other primary health practices may not have the resources to attend to their clients’ wounds and end up referring their clients to other facilities such as hospitals and home and community care agencies. Wound care is a service which requires in-person assessment and care. They add a great variety of skills and specialized training which allows for the integration of wound care, a service which the clinical nursing team provides primary care clients with wounds that range from mild to moderately complex.
